The science behind smelling good 💕 (it’s powerful)

The science behind smelling good 💕 (it’s powerful)

Fun fact: smell is the fastest “memory button” we have.

Your brain processes scent in a way that’s tightly connected to emotion and memory, which is why one whiff of something can instantly take you back to a person, a place, or a whole era of your life. Fragrance can create seriously powerful associations.

So smelling good can make you more memorable and more attractive, not because you “tricked” anyone but because scent helps your brain file someone or something under "mmmm... yes please." We also respond to body chemistry cues, like pheromones, which can be incorporated into fragrances and smell goods. These are a quick way to add a boost of connection and confidence.

Let's talk about confidence for a second too...

When you know you smell amazing, you move different.
More eye contact.
More warmth.
Less “do I look okay?” energy.

That alone can shift your entire mood, heck, it can change the course of your entire day. We know that when you go out into the world confidence and feeling good, everything around you shifts.

The actual scent can set a mood too! Use different scents to portray a different feeling or vibe, or stick with one that you feel represents you and your personality best, and turn it into your signature 😉

Light Musks, Linen, Citrus
Says approachable, effortless, simple

Vanilla, Amber, Tonka, Sandalwoods
Says warm, comforting, intimate

Sweet Fruits, Berries, Cherry
Say fun, youthful, teasing energy

Leather, Spice, Smoke, Oud
Says powerful, mysterious, bold

Soft Florals, Jasmine, Rose
Says romantic, tender, soft

And here's what's so great about a fragrance, they can be a blend. That's why you may have a scent with Blackberry, Musk, Warm Vanilla and Spice that's somehow warm, deliciously sexy, confident and playful!

How to smell good in a way that lasts...
That won't be too much or over the to

1) Moisturize first
Fragrance sticks better to hydrated skin. Even a plain, unscented lotion helps.

2) Hit pulse points, but don’t rub
Wrists, collarbone, inner elbows. A light dab and let it dry.
Rubbing can break down top notes.

3) Layer like a grown-up
Body wash, then lotion, then fragrance means it lasts longer and smells more “you,” not just “perfume" on top.

4) Add one secret spot
A tiny spritz on hair brush, scarf, or the inside of a jacket gives that soft hug scent when someone gets close.

5) Keep it close
The goal is having a lean in scent… not “I smelled you before I saw you” 😄

So now I'm curious... do you notice a difference when you smell good?
And what are your go to fragrance notes?
